“Dietary factors play an essential role in cutaneous homeostasis since they supply the nutrients necessary for good cellular functioning. Any shortage of these elements can lead to dysfunctions of the cutaneous structure, often hard to identify, since the clinical condition is oligosymptomatic. Nutraceuticals are associations of nutrients with benefits and synergistic effects. They act not only in response to any minor shortage of micronutrients but also in phenomena at the cellular level, associated with aging, dermatoses, and the cellular cycle”

If you’re a skincare formulator you will have a LOT more knowledge of nutrition which can be included in your actual skincare products as well as offer clients beauty nutrition tips and share the official beauty nutrition handouts with them. You could create a new holistic package where your clients receive bespoke skincare, beauty nutrition advice and a curated selection of beauty nutrition handouts and recipes tailored to their needs.
If you’re an esthetician or spa therapist you can advise your clients on hydration and which foods to include or leave out of their diets to help any skin issues they come to you for. You can curate a collection of beauty nutrition handouts (from the library) to help with their specific skin issues. If you have training in spotting certain nutritional deficiencies in the skin, hair and nails – you’ll be able to tell them which beauty foods have those specific nutrients in.
If you’re a health food creator, detox retreat owner or juice bar owner you’ll be able to use this your training and new knowledge of beauty foods to design amazing recipes, meals and treats that will detoxify, de-age and beautify your customers.
If you’re a qualified (and insured as) nutritionist or health coach you can distil this knowledge into your bespoke client treatment plans and personalised diets for your clients. Giving your clients the youthful, beautiful skin they want, rejuvenating their bodies and helping to heal their skin conditions

A passionate advocate of holistic skincare and beauty, Star began her career as a beauty product formulator, teacher and author of The Holistic Beauty Book; following the success of the book Star built the world’s first organic skincare formulation school: Formula Botanica (which she sold in 2014) which then led her to investigate the skin-nutrition link. Since 2017, Star has launched The Facelift Diet® and Academy of Beauty Nutrition: the world’s first – and only – accredited training school in plant-based anti-ageing skin-nutrition.
